Skincare Routine: Turmeric powder

February 10, 2019

Makeup is seen as a deceitful illusion! to most people who may not wear it, Its viewed as a mask and mechanism to cover up insecurities about your skin or facial features.

If I want to add more bone structure to my nose or jaw line, I can use a darker concealer to make it appear that way; without surgery.

Although I can agree with all of the negativity that comes with wearing makeup, some people just like to paint there face. It brings a sense of creativity and fierceness that one may not necessarily feel on a regular basis.

However, wearing makeup everyday doesn't  take care of the challenges we may have with our skin: the dark spots, pimples and acne scars. I've used noxema, aveeno oatmeal soap, and doctor perscribed medication and none seemed to clear my skin. I believed it had alot to do with my eating and drinking habits.

Therefore, I became pesceterian, which was one of the best decisions Ive ever made ( but I eat alot of vegeterian meals and occasionally slip up on a piece of chicken...lol). I'm working on drinking more water, but the Kool-aid is too good and too SWEET!

I decided to try some home remedies for my skin and the tumeric powder and water has shown someof the best results.

Pros:

  • It helps reduce dark spots and pimples

  • Scaring is not as noticable

  • Smoove skin

  • Creates a natural glow

Cons:

  • Stains face and clothing ( Scrub face with warm water after using it helps with this)

  • Stings a little

  • Redness for about an hour ( My skin is sensitive, so this may or may not happen)

Directions: (Recommended usage: once or twice a week)

  • Use gloves and wear clothes that you dont mind getting messy

  • Take a teaspoon of turmeric and 1 cup water and mix together

  • Be sure that the mixture is smoove and not too thick or too watery

  • Use your hand or a old makeup brush to apply only on the problematic areas

  • Use for 20- 30 minutes

  • Rinse with warm water

  • Use moistrizer or coconut oil to prevent dryness
