The Art of Networking: Kate Spade Event

September 29, 2017

A wise woman once stated that "The things we truly love stay with us always, locked in our hearts as long as life remains".

Josephine Baker inspired fall collection by Kate Spade previewed a mixture of leopard prints, flowers and pearls.I must admit Micheal Kors has some fierce competition this season because this collection can appeal to women of all ages and style categories.

I must admit Micheal Kors has some fierce competition this season because this collection can appeal to women of all ages and style categories. Edgy, chic and flirty was a theme last night that appealed to bloggers and influencers.

Josephine Baker was a singer, dancer and Civil rights activist. Her style resembled her personality which could be interpreted as a relentless rebel with a hint of class. I've always known that everything we wear has already been done, it's just been reinvented. However, I never knew how much Ms. Baker's style inspired designers and myself.

My favorite pieces were the leopard and flower mules as well as the pearl boots because they are super comfortable but fashion forwardI. do have a birthday coming up so if anyone wants to purchase it for me let me know!

*Checkout the photos below and let me know what was your favorite piece from the collection! Shop katespadeny.com and sign up for emailing lists and get 15 percent off any purchase, thank me later!

Background story

This week's challenges has brought on some rollercoaster emotions, which all went away when I was invited to Kate Spades private event in downtown DC City Center area.

As a blogger, when you're presented with an opportunity like this you scream to the top of your lungs with excitement because it's the first time you're viewed as a professional journalist!

At first I was nervous because I had these high expectations of myself to highlight great content and network with other bloggers. I must admit, networking is challenging for me because I can be socially awkward. I'm the girl who sips a glass of champagne in the corner and pretend like I'm enjoying the feeling of loneliness.

However, I wasn't that girl at this event, I was able to meet other fashion and lifestyle bloggers who shared some insight on my blog and opportunities with other brands. Therefore, the art of networking mean sometimes being out of your comfort zone.
